Liz Peters
"Hello….my name’s Liz Peters, I’m 28 and from Manchester! I work as a broadcast journalist, which basically means I read the news on the radio. I also teach radio and acting at Salford University part time. I live in Manchester with my friend Jessie, and am single. My family live on the lovely Isle of Man, where I went to school. Sounds cheesy, but ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to work on TV. Until I went to Uni, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do TV wise, and had pretty much worked in banks and offices, in between travelling and trying to get acting and TV parts! At Uni we had a TV station, that students could make programmes for and present. Well, I presented a show…and found what I wanted to do for a living...most people would probably say about time too, I was 25 then! I love being in front of the camera, It feels so natural and I really thrive off it. I can’t imagine doing anything else really, I love my job on the radio but I’m always a bit jealous of the presenters, who get to talk more than I do! I can talk for England, and as far as personality goes, I like to think I was pretty easy going, I love music, theatre and film, and being in Manchester is great for that, it’s such a great vibrant city, and has produced my all time favourite band...The Smiths! I’m really thrilled to get this far in the competition, I basically entered it at the last minute, after spotting it in a magazine on a colleagues desk! I borrowed a camera and a friend of mine helped me to film a couple of pieces, before sending it off 2 days before the deadline! I’m really looking forward to ‘Bootcamp’, but am a bit nervous about it! Just a word of warning, I can be grumpy in the mornings until I’ve had at least 2 cups of tea…just ask my poor housemate!"
