Job Description - Acupuncturist Many people are turning to Acupuncture for their illnesses instead of Western medicines, so practitioners are always in demand. Acupuncture originates from China and is an ancient method of healing which dates back thousands of years. It is a traditional healing method not only in China but Japan and other Eastern countries. Acupuncture offers cures for many ailments and pain relief by inserting fine needles into the skin which stimulates the body’s defence mechanisms. Training & Qualifications To pursue a career as in acupuncture you need to attend an approved school and in some case, depending on the country you are practising in it may be necessary for you to already hold a degree in medicine. Personal Qualities To become an acupuncturist you must be confident, compassionate, tactful, have the ability to listen carefully to your patients and have steady hands.
